Pumpkins...Round Two

It was probably fortunate that our first pumpkin met an early demise... then Aslyn and Breck got to take another shot at the carving! The second time I think they were starting to get the hang of it and even got their hands in the pumpkin goo. They ended the tiring evening by taking a rest on Denali...she is such a good sport!

Wildlife in Colorado

A HUGE Buck took up residence in my parents' front yard last week. IT is amazing how mundane the wildlife seems when you are driving by in your car everyday. It is nice to have a reminder of how cool wildlife can actually be when you are up close and personal (and safe behind a window pane). Aslyn, understandably, took frequent breaks from playing to "Say Hi to the Deer."

Pumpkins...Round One

These pics are from the first attempt at carving pumpkins. Sadly, our Pumpkin met an early demise when it began to wither (or as Sid the Science Kid would say...decay!) on our front porch.   As you can see little carving went on as Aslyn and Breck are nearing two and have the energy and attention span to prove it! I'm still working on getting the video from our HIGHLY networked  computers so for now I thought I would post some still pics.

Riding With No Hands?!?

"Riding With No Hands"
My Mother, is a little bit taller than me, but who knows how long it will be like that, cuz' things are changing. I get a little taller everyday. My Father, is a little bit smarter than me, but who knows how much longer things will be like that, cuz' things are changing. And I've been changing. I get a little smarter everyday.

Ho-dee-o, over the rainbow. Hi-dee-i, to the top of the sky. Look at me, Mom, I'm riding with no hands. I do the best I can.

My Dreams, are a little bit bigger than me, but who knows how much longer things will be like that, cuz' things are changing. And I've been changing. I get a little bigger everyday.

Ho-dee-o, over the rainbow. Hi-dee-i, to the top of the sky. Look at me, Mom, I'm riding with no hands, and tipping back my chair, and didn't brush my hair. But I do the best I can.

This song gets me a little teary every time I hear it. I thought it only appropriate for our Blog title. On a whole different level, Aslyn is a little daredevil, so riding with no hands is right up her alley. More to come...
